IT'S COMING

Remember back in May, when I held my first (only) contest (so far) here at Speaking in CAPS and gave away a copy of The World According to Garp to Jen at Sprite's Keeper? You don't? Well, all that stuff happened.

Jen and I agreed to write down our reactions to the book and post the results to launch a new blog, He Read / She Read. Well, that inaugural post is nearly ready-for-prime-time. So keep on the lookout here - and at Sprite's Keeper's place - and soon it will be revealed just where and when you need to go for literary criticism of a multi-gender variety.

It'll be like..."Dogs and cats, living together. Mass hysteria."

You won't want to miss that.

Take care.

Will you post both in one spot, or each on your own pages? Inquiring minds want to know.

We will be posting at a new site created exclusively for He Read / She Read writings. The web address for this new blog site will be announced on both our sites...in due time.

Sounds like fun, especially considering I've read it numerous times... can't wait to see what y'all say.

I'll tip my hand: I love me some John Irving. Not the new stuff, too Mommy-Issue-y for me, but Garp, and Cider House, and Owen Meany. Especially Owen Meany. I cried for hours.

Cathy: You are quite right, my dear. I probably quote from that movie more often than any other - with the possible exception of Le Grande Lebowski.

Pamela: Glad to hear you are an Irving fan. I tend to appreciate the same period of his work that you do - although I find everything he does worthwhile on some level. Of his more recent stuff, Trying To Save Piggy Sneed and A Widow For One Year stand out for me.

Cap'n: I'm alway trying to be - but that gatekeeper can be damn stingy.

I hope that we can count on you not only for loyal readership and honest feedback - but also a plug or two on your section of the Blogosphere would be greatly appreciated.

SK: You are way too young to be forgettin' stuff that fast. What you need is a good nap. Of course, is there any other kind?
