My THANK-sgiving Wordle

Here's my post on the New York Time's Wordle Review comments for yesterday.

My “Twelve Days of Christmas” posts last season were so well received, I thought I’d warm up with a Thanksgiving post this year.

(To be sung to the tune of “We Gather Together”)

For Thanksgiving's Wordle, my first guess was lucky
It found me two letters, the H and the O
Guess 1 had much gain-ed, Eleven words remain-ed
Two letters were in place now — but with three left to go

Guess 2, I chose PACER — which WordleBot favored
I found me a C — but now where should it go?
Two words left to pick from — but I could only guess one
The other word was CHOUX — What is *that*?  I don’t know.

So one word was left me to use for my Guess 3
I’m CHOCK-full of blessings this Thanksgiving Day
Past Wordle play knowledge helped best NYT’s average
Today, it’s family, food — Back tomorrow to play

Today, Guess #1 provided the H & O (in position).  Based on my records from Game #687 (GHOUL on 5/7/2023), there were ten words left — but four had been previous solutions.  (NOTE:  The Bot later indicated that CHOUX was now also a possible solution — but I did not take that information seriously.)  Guess #2 added only the C (out of position).  With the information at my disposal, only one solution remained.  On this Thanksgiving Day, I was CHOCK-full of both SKILL & LUCK.  I tied The Bot (3 to 3) and bested the (current) NYT avg by more than a full guess (3 vs 4.1).

If you celebrate such things, I hope you had a Terrific Thanksgiving.

Take care and stay safe.
